Cable car to the Hausberg
The first operation of the cable car took place on the 4th August 1954. A technical renovation was affected from May 2000 onwards and the re-opening happened on the 28th April 2001. If one visits the city of Bad Lauterberg in the Harz, you should not miss a ride in the cable car to the mount Hausberg. The views across the city, particularly when fine weather conditions prevail, are just magnificent.
The length of the support cable is 440 metre and the incline at the slope is remarkable with 63%. The speed of the two seat free air gondola is recorded being 0,5 metre per second. The valley station is located at a height of appr. 292 m and the top station at appr. 403 m. Consequently you overcome a height difference of appr. 110 m on such a journey.
