Community Lonau

Community of the rural district Osterode, Harz

Surrounded by lovely mixed forests is the state approved climatic spa situated

At Lonau's in village centre, near the church is the confluence of the becks from the Kirch valley and the Marien valley situated.
The blue wave drawbar depicts that situation on the emblem.

The beech leaf is an indication of forestry and the village name because 'Lonau' means as much as ' a river valley with beeches'.

An attraction of a special kind is the wood rouse breeding station.
The station promotes the re-establishment of the wood grouse in the Harz since 1972.
